Hey, the reason the United States has the most superheroes is probably because they pay better here than other foreign powers. At least in the Kickverse, where super-heroing is a capitalistic venture. This was also the premise in a superhero campaign world I was creating for a Mutants & Masterminds game. One day, 1 out of every 100,000 people gains super powers. Take a look at the population of most countries and see what happens to the balance of power. So shortly after the event that created all the superheroes, there is a super humans “arms” race, with the U.S. diverting 100’s of millions away from traditional military and paying supers to become U.S. citizens.
That’s what they are doing with Java.
Java, you do realize that if you take that job, you will have to leave that wonderful coffee shop.
No more scones!
He’ll have a job, then come home to the coffee shop. Just like when he was a bus driver. I’m sure it’ll all work out.
