You have to know how to motivate your nerd.
Rushed this strip to print because I was totally without power for an entire Monday here on the Long Beach Peninsula. Then spent a Tuesday spending quality time with my girlfriend. Started drawing this a little after midnight on Wednesday morning. Finished in 36 minutes! Woohoo! Recycled drawings for the win!

One cannot simply buy Gandalf’s Staff. He had to earn it, probably by going to a Comic Con and smiting some competing nerds.

Actually, as an Australian, I can tell you that ‘Dag’ is a term for the wool that is around a sheep’s anus.

Really?? I was searching for an Aussie slang term for nerd or geek. There were a couple different sites that had it, although most of them had comments from Australians that said, “No, that’s not a nerd.” But I couldn’t find a good alternative.
Sadly, it can be both. A ‘dag’ is either a lovable fool, or an unlovable one – it can be used positively or negatively – and is usually applied to someone with poor social skills. The word does not have the connotations of obsession with tech or magic we have in our spheres.
In the positive, the poor social skills are amusing and part of the famous gaiety of nations. In the negative they are… not.

I’d complain about it not being a replica of Merlin’s Staff, but I don’t have the heart. 🙂
