Java 458
One of the reasons I never ran a Talislanta game? Because there are like 50 forms of currency across the continent. I would need a Talislanta curency conversion app to run that game.
Quatloos is of course the currency of choice for gambling on science fiction hand-to-hand combat.
Java has already beaten up many an alien, so assuming the games are not rigged, he should be able to win some Quatloos up the Wazoo.
Who can identify all the other space currencies mentioned? 300 Quatloos for each correct answer. 100 Quatloos equals 1 Kickpoint.
Also, if anyone has an idea for an artichoke comic, I could use some help. I’m sure I can come up with 52 artijokes strips, but I can also guarantee that 46 of those won’t be even remotely funny.
Here is artijoke #3:
Some updates on Matt stuff. I am currently homeless until Saturday, then I’ll be taking care of a cat in Oakland. Today’s strip was uploaded from the Atherton Library in Atherton, California.
I was thinking about putting together a print version of Real Superheroines. Right as I was creating a cover for “Season One” and compiling the first five chapters, I double checked on pdsh.fandom.com… and apparently The Spectre is NOT a public domain character (and will not be until 2030). I’d still like to create a manga-sized print book, but that will mean I need to replace The Spectre with another PD character, Wraith! Yes, it’s a real dude. Green skin and white cape though. It will mean I’ll have to go back and sub some artwork before that will ever happen.
Also, another project, I’ll probably make a proper post for it alter, is that Kickman will be participating in Crisis on Independent Earths. This is a large scale indie comic project that John Bua of the John’s Longbox YouTube channel is putting together. At the most recent count, there were 49 different IP’s that are planning to take part.
If this crisis can be kicked, we can kill it.
A lot of big names in the indie comic scene are participating. Only the best pages will make it into the print version, and I’m not expecting to be among those. I might also be the only web comic artist submitting anything as of now. We shall see. John said that anyone can participate, and anyone that submits pages will get their work included in the electronic version of the final work. So this is another thing on my agenda. I only need to make 3 to 5 finished pages of comic art by Jan 1, so it’s not exactly a strenuous deadline.
Oh, and I have a short story coming out in a few months in an anthology, the Fellowship of the Indie Authors, volume 2. They are still working on layout and cover art. I’ll let you all know when it is available for those interested.
Oh, Liberty Belle is also NOT in the public domain. She will be replaced with Lady Liberty at some point…
