Java 214
Is there some kind of tactical advantage to becoming a bat during a super battle? Sure, they have erratic flight paths but they are tiny and fragile. I tried to make this vampire bat at least look as menacing as possible with the red eyes and oversized fangs. However, erratic flight is no match for jaguar hyper agility and baseball prowess.
The nose gag is of course a nod to Phillip the vampire, haggard servant of Bloody Mary from the Kickman chapter with the vampires. You should go back and read it here: http://kickmancomic.mattslawblog.com/comic/tba-1/
Bloody Mary was not only the longest chapter of Kickman, it was also the chapter where I switched from using a free open-source drawing software (paint.net) over to Clip Studio Paint Pro which greatly improved my inking. Eventually made the inking quicker as well, although that took a few weeks of practice. All in all, I highly recommend Clip Studio Paint Pro (MSRP $50).
Next week: Instead of Jaguar Vs Vampire Vs Rakshasa we have Jaguar Vs Rakshasa AND Vampire!
Is Java doomed?
Yeah, no one thinks that….
*DING*
Another score for Java! I think these dead beat dads will never learn.
Only one’s a dead beat dad. The other is an undead beat dad. Oh, snap!
No joke, my first thesis was on the development of the modern vampire trope. So, I’m truly qualified to say that there is no basis to vampires transforming into A bat as a battle tactic. There is some suggestion of changing into a horde of bats, but usually one bat is for seduction.
Bat form for seduction? Hmmm… I guess some bats have game.
Bat to knock on the window, then fly in. it’s a hypnotic effect rather than raw sexuality
Teaming up against a caffeine fueled jaguar baby? That thing have near-unlimited energy for it’s super combo’s… Good luck better next time!
