“Bringing a bat to a bite fight”
Java Jaguar is up a day late because I just forgot when Wednesday was (it was yesterday).
Even though Java is clearly outclassing the vampire and rakshasa, he can’t do any permanent damage to them, because according to physics and the science teams that brought us Dungeons & Dragons, you need a magic weapon to harm a vampire or rakshasa. So even though we thought Java was winning, the current score is actually
Java: 0
Vampire: -1
Rakshasa: 0
The vampire was penalized a point for wasting a spell slot trying to cast mirror image.
How can Java Jaguar turn the tide in this battle? Find out next week in the ongoing adventures of JAVA JAGUAAAAAR!
There are game mechanics for dealing with enemies who can’t be harmed but can be hurt. In at least one GURPS iteration, such damage goes agains Fatigue instead of Hit Points. In other words, the vampire/demon/whatever gets tired of being a pounching bag.
Yeah, getting repeatedly mauled by a jaguar is no picnic. Eventually, they would probably decide that it’s not worth it to keep fighting… especially if their end goal was to have Java join them as their heir. Then this could easily become a daily ritual.
Certainly not what I’d call a picnic! Where are the ants? Where’s the potato salad?
Maybe this battle will get called on account of rain
Totally worth it then! Love it!
It’s fun to see Java unleashing his fierce predator nature for once.
Yeah, it’s nice to have an opponent that’s more durable than Dingo Jack.
