I bet no one saw that coming.
As for the vulnerability to the blessed crossbow bolt, that is a holdover from the Rakshasa write-up in the 1st edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual. I don’t think they have a similar vulnerability in 2nd through 5th edition, but that is obviously because rakshasa have infiltrated the publishers of D&D to protect themselves. It’s all part of a concerted disinformation campaign that has led to the death of many a monster hunter since the turn of the century. That’s why you need to get your info from the oldest source material… of D&D. Those boys did their homework.
In the series Supernatural, the rakshasa could only be killed by a brass knife. What utter nonsense is that?
Next week. Jaguar and Barista Vs Vampire!
Matt just happened to have a crossbow with a blessed bolt in case of Rakshasa incursion? Is this a special ability of a Level 15 Barista?
No, he only had a crossbow (left over in the storage room from a blue ninja sniper following the Morebucks Coffee Wars).
However (FANFARE!)
I hereby award maarvarq with 3 Kick Points for a successful spoiler guess! Because the first line of the next strip is “You just happened to have a blessed crossbow bolt in case of a rakshasa attack?”
Thanks!
Well, the whole thing about a brass knife is, do you have one? At all? I have a Damascus patterned steel blade in case of ghouls, but not a brass one. They’re only common in old time movies as letter openers. Just ask Hercule Poirot
I think the Supernatural brothers ended up impaling it on a pipe from an organ. I don’t think I even have a brass candlestick anywhere to be found.
