Java 404
Well, you just can’t eat a critter after it kisses you!
Good thing there aren’t more jaguars hanging around the shop, Java would never live this down. In fact, some of the regular alley cats are probably going to start giving him the business.
Java will just have to take the rest of Matt’s peanut butter-stuffed pretzels.
This morning Matt (creator Matt, me, not barista Matt, fictional me) is leaving my sit in Redwood City and hitting the road for Southern Cal. I will catch one final Comic Arts Fest workshop this afternoon at 4:00, (John Daly Public Library) then spend the rest of the day driving. Tomorrow, I’ll be playing with a new French Bulldog and a new kitty cat in a town near LA called Winnetka.
Oh, and here is me with artist/designer Carlos Nieto III at the Redwood City Public Library for his workshop Think It Ink It: Comics Basics.

Java has discovered peanut butter kisses!
I guess he’ll have to console himself with a meal of chat au rue petite.
Google Translate gave that to me as “Cat at the rue petite.” Which I’m not sure is English. Or at least not American. If petite is little, and rue as in regret, then would that be a meal of “small feline regret?”
Cat From Street Little, literally. Technically it should be ‘ruelle’ for an alley, but pretentious restaurants never have proper French.
Then again, in proper French an alley cat is ‘chat de gouttiere’, so the joke flops on multiple levels.
peanuts aren’t nuts, Java!
