Java 445
How many of you saw the first panel and thought, “That scone with a bite out of it looks just like the Starfleet logo, I bet that van is a spaceship!”
No one? Really?
Sorry about the tardiness of today’s strip. It’s not my fault, as the artist. We are actually in the midst of a contract dispute with Java Jaguar, and he has some demands that are… difficult.
Also, looks like Java is going off into a brand new outer space misadventure!
Nice of the strip producers to spring this little surprise on me at the last minute. Looks like I won’t be able to use any of my pre-made backgrounds for like the next X number of months. I had to draw every panel from scratch! Do you have any idea how long it takes to draw the interior of a delivery truck? Actually, I think I spent more time on that logo on the side of that truck. So you can bet that that there magic scone-bus will be appearing in at least 60 panels over the next couple of years.

Sigh, I miss the days when there were still 8-10 different “Spider-Mans”, but they were all clones. Nowadays its all about the “Multiverse”…..
You kids get off my lawn!
The multiverse is the easy way out of maintaining continuity. Like when they made the first Chris Pine Star Trek movie, deciding that they were an alternate reality from the Sacred Trek timeline. That was probably a smart move on their part, because Trek fans can be brutal.
Every time I have to deal with Trek fans I am again reminded that ‘fan’ is short for ‘fanatic’.
You’re right. As soon as the “Next Generation” fans started Dissing Kirk you knew the kind of insane fans they were.
(what?)
During my acting days I played an android in a live stage performance at a Star Trek convention on Oahu. The first and only one they had there, not enough of a fan base. But the organizers were super on top of it and professional, unlike the few comic cons I attended there. I had brunch with General Martok and Gowron (<--sp?)
SEE! This is why you use a local bakery! (and they should be fresher…)
But… but… these are Sci-Fi scones!
The coffee and donuts were out of this world.
